Kapiti College is seeking a skilled Caretaker to maintain our school. This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week with 4 weeks of annual leave per year. Supporting the Head Caretaker/Property Manager, you’ll ensure our facilities remain safe, functional, and inviting.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in facilities maintenance, with expertise in repairs, grounds maintenance, and building systems, as well as an understanding of compliance and health and safety standards. Project management skills are crucial, including planning and maintaining projects, coordinating with contractors, and managing budgets and schedules to deliver high-quality results.
You’ll assist with daily operations, emergency repairs, staff supervision, and liaison with school leadership. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills are essential, as is a proactive, team-focused approach. A trade qualification and familiarity with project management tools are desirable.
